Paris Rally Supports Detained Gaza Aid Activists After Israel Detention

(MENAFN) A demonstration took place on Tuesday in a historic square in Paris in support of two activists from the Gaza-bound humanitarian Global Sumud Flotilla who were detained by Israeli authorities.

Supporters gathered at the Place de la Bastille, where participants waved Palestinian flags and voiced slogans including “We are all children of Gaza” and “There is only one solution: End the occupation.”

The rally focused on expressing solidarity with Thiago Avila and Saif Abu Keshek, with protesters demanding their immediate release and criticizing their detention.

A member of the NGO Urgence Palestine, identified as Kinan, addressed the crowd, stating: “We must continue to fight for the liberation of Palestine.”

He also argued that the detention of the two activists highlights how individuals mobilizing in support of Palestine are treated by Israel without accountability, according to remarks made during the gathering.

Another protester, Anouar, speaking to reporters, said, “we are here today to react to Israel’s barbarity.”

He called for unity among Muslims in opposition to what he described as “barbarity,” adding: “Israel is violating all rights; it can do anything. It is not being punished.”
